Beyond Bento Box

Japanese Jigsaw

Tracey has created an easy-top-construct variation of the classic Pine Bark block that looks great in many fabrics from batiks to reproductions. If you can sew a four-patch, you can make this quilt!

Sankaku
6 hour class
Designed to show off beautiful panels or large-scale prints as in Japanese yukata fabric, Sankaku is strikingly graphic using high-contrast values. Concentric triangle borders have a math secret - the blocks in each border are exactly 1" larger than the blocks in the previous border. This relationship continues for each additional border, no matter how large you make the quilt.

Butterfly Town
6 hour class
Butterfly Town has large (12”) easy-to-piece blocks made from strips, squares, and rectangles. Choose large-scale designer prints for the upper wings; medium to small scale prints for the lower wings; and a darker contrasting print or solid for the body and cornerstones. A tone-on-tone or other subtle print works well in the background to show off the butterflies.
